In the finest tradition of couture work, all Flying Fig accessories and home furnishings are meticulously hand crafted. Each design is conceived of as a painting by the artist. It is then translated into fine needlework by master craftsmen, their needles adding another dimension to the swirl of colors that exists in the painting.
A Collaboration with Artists
We work with museums and artists and to turn their artwork into a unique item. We welcome artistic collaborations.
Since 1999, Flying Fig has been featured in the press in the US, Europe and Far East (Architectural Digest, W, Oprah, Glamour, Vogue, Elle to name a few), and had been carried by luxury stores around the globe (including Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Fortnum & Mason). Architectural Digest found Flying Fig craftsmanship to be of museum quality, something rarely seen outside of the Smithsonian.

How we work
Our Embroideries
We offer exquisite hand-embroidered designs on the finest fabrics. Our master craftsmen are known for their couture embroidery skills, and their workmanship is truly museum quality.
Our craftsmen are based in India, where under the patronage of the Mughal Emperors hand embroidery flourished. and the craftsmen were renowned the world over. These skills have been passed down for generations and still today we see some of the finest examples of hand embroidery in the world, in India. Italian and French Couture houses are patrons o f Indian embroidery for many decades.
Custom Work
Each Flying Fig item is hand crafted to order.
We have a vast design library and can also accommodate your designs, on the fabrics of your choice, in the sizes you specify.
We can also work on your own fabric, or with your interior designer, upholsterer, or seamstress to embroider on clothing or soft furnishings and upholstery. Please contact us with details of your requirement for a quote.
